6 Things I love About NWA Powerrr
NWA (National Wrestling Alliance) have debuted their new Studio wrestling show NWA Power (or #NWAPowerrr) and in three words I LOVE IT!

I didn't grow up on studio wrestling and ever experience what studio wrestling was back in 1970s and before, so for me this is a new experience and a new presentation of pro wrestling.
Two Episodes of NWA Powerrr have aired so far, it can be watched on Youtube (new Episodes released on a Tuesday) at or at any time after its first airing on demand and now also available to view on Fite TV days after the episode has aired on Youtube.
Here's what I've loved about NWA Powerrr so far
Excellent Promos
In the 2 episodes that have aired so far promos are a prominent and important part of the show. NWA Champion Nick Aldis in the opening segment of the first episode cuts one of the best promos in Wrestling - what it did was set the tone for that episode and I think for NWA going forward. It's a must watch promo and I feel one of the best I have seen.
Nick Aldis was pure class, eloquently spoken and this hooked me into the show and buy in to what the ethos of NWA is.
In the same episode this was then backed up with a Promo from Eli Drake.
I have never been a big fan of Eli, but after his promo in episode 1 it made me more intrigued about him and made me care about him more, I thought that was a clever touch taking my impression of a character I'd seen before but changing it to feel fresh and different.
Then in Episode 2 Aron Stevens, James Storm and Ricky Starks all had excellent promos and all were important in establishing them.
In all the promos so far they have felt real, not forced, not scripted word for word but a wrestler going out there and speaking as a wrestler, in 2019 that's refreshing.
New Debuts

New Debuts
NWA have brought talent i have wanted to see back in Pro Wrestling and even wrestlers I hadn't thought about for a little while.
Eddie Kingston, Homicide, Ken Anderson, Aron Stevens, Trevor Murdoch to name just a few have been wrestlers that have debuted for the NWA and NWA are allowing them to be themselves, I really enjoyed Colt Cabana and Mr Anderson interview before their match in Episode 2 and these characters just come across as more comfortable than when they had been in other environments previously.
It's going to be interesting to see what NWA do with these new acquisitions and how they develop over the upcoming episodes of NWA Power.

Mayhem and FUN
What I have enjoyed most about NWA Powerrr so far is the mayhem in the studio and above all it's fun to watch.
In Episode 1 James Storm and Josephus fighting each by the ring announcers and then all over the studio, going over multiple segments and then there was confrontation between Latimer/Isaacs and Homicide and Eddie Kingston.
I think it added something different to the show and made it feel different and although recorded made it feel in a way organic which is something in the modern era is definitely lacking so a tip of the hat to NWA for this.
Making the Titles Feel Important
As I said above Nick Aldis opening promo in Episode 1 really set the tone, it really showed the importance of the NWA World Title and Nick talking about how he is a target for the whole NWA Roster. and how he was going to have a title match in the main event vs Tim Storm.
I liked also that NWA World Tag Team Champions Thomas Latimer and Royce Isaccs were featured prominently they won a match convincingly on episode 1 which then led into a confrontation with Eddie Kingston and Homicide. Then on episode 2 NWA Women's Champion Allysin Kay was featured in a non title match. All Titles feel important and feels like all talent want those titles.
No Entrance Music, No Problem
When the wrestlers come to the ring in NWA Power there is no entrance music. If you're reading this and thinking "no Entrance music on a wrestling show that won't work" then you have to watch NWA Powerrr and see that it does.
David Lagana stated on twitter that "the crowd is the soundtrack" and he is 100% right. In the studio setting music isn't needed it's all about the action and the reaction of the crowd and that is the soundtrack to NWA Powerrr.
I'm Sure at PPV events and Special Events that NWA will use Entrance Music but for NWA Powerrr is another thing to make it feel different from everything else that is out there.
Billy Corgan knows the importance of Music and what it can add to an atmosphere and who the dynamic of music can change the tone of a show, I feel that NWA when needed will use music effectively to fit their product.
NWA Powerrr is 1 Hour - The Power Hour
NWA Powerrr is one hour long and it's the perfect time for a wrestling show. 1 Hour is enough time to take out the day and it's easy to digest and easy to understand too and that's so important i think i could sit with a non wrestling fan or someone who hasn't seen the product before and they would be able to pick it up easily.
NWA Powerrr is accessible to everyone, all you need is an Internet connection and to go to Youtube and you can see the show usually released on a Tuesday, whether its on a smart TV, Phone, Tablet or any other device, NWA is accessible to everyone all over the world from USA to Australia.

There is so much more to come from NWA with further studio wrestling episode tapings planned and NWA have announced 'Into The Fire' PPV which will be taking place in December.
NWA is special its old school but modern, familiar but different and exciting and chaotic, give it a chance and see and believe for yourself.
