CM Punk otherwise known as Phil Brooks was one of the best, most captivating and most talked about wrestlers in the world.
CM Punk was controversy, CM Punk was anti authority, CM Punk connected with millions of fans all over the world.

I loved and still do love CM Punk Character it really connected with me and I brought the Cm Punk T shirts, DVDs and even fleece jackets. I even flew from London to New York to see Wrestlemaina 29 and see CM Punk vs Undertaker in 2013 live with Pro Wrestling Report Dameon Nelson and David Herro and my best friend Dominic.

My friend Dominic was a lapsed wrestling fan in 2013 but once he saw CM Punk vs Undertaker, he was jumping out of his seat at near falls and got caught up in the drama of the match at the end of it he said to me "I realise now why you love this so much, that CM Punk is bloody good what a match" - that was the power CM Punk had and how good CM Punk was he made my friend a fan again.

A few months later In 2014 CM Punk decided that he had enough of wrestling and of WWE and decided to leave (after he was served his release papers by WWE on his wedding day). It was a decision that shocked the whole of the wrestling world and fans have be clamouring for his return for years since.
CM Punk had fallen out of love with wrestling, he was frustrated, injured and completely burnt out by what he was doing.
Wrestling was what CM Punk Loved he did it for years and had a passion for it, but that passion died away and suddenly, the thing he loved the most became the thing he despised the most.
Some fans don't understand it but now having some life experience I understand it 100% although in my case a completely different way.
Having been in a job since I was 18 years old, something I loved and had a passion for I left after 14 years last year and I was miserable.
I had been worked too hard for too long, with lack of support and help I ended up off work for a few months and needed alot of help and support emotionally to help me move forward.
Ultimately I ended up leaving that job.
After 14 years, the thing I loved doing was now the thing I despised and I had to leave it in order to be happy.
I could still do that job now and be back in that industry but thinking about it makes me feel so unhappy i don't want to go back to that, it doesn't motivate me or make me feel any passion in my heart. (Side Note - I'm much happier now in 2019 and life and work is great)

CM Punk (Phil Brooks) Left what made him unhappy and hasn't been back to wrestling since (well maybe under a mask maybe......) he then went on to move into UFC and to have 2 fights in UFC, Write comic books and also to commentate on MMA he went and followed his passions and the thing that he loved, that made him happy and feel better.
If CM Punk does come back to wrestling (AEW) there will be no one happier than me, of course I want to see it, to me CM Punk vs Kenny Omega is a match that needs to happen, and would be one of the best matches in wrestling history in my opinion.
However if CM Punk thinks of Wrestling and it makes him feel unhappy and doesn't fulfil him then he shouldn't do it.
If wrestling makes him happy and its something he has a passion for again then follow your heart
I'm a fan but my best advice....... just do in life what you love.
