Hello All, Welcome back to another blog, today we are talking OVW Wrestling and their TV show on YouTube, their wrestlers and what they are doing.

As always what is written here is my opinion and my thoughts as a wrestling fan. That doesn't mean I'm 100% right or I'm a wrestling expert just my thoughts and perceptions on what I see, with that said...….

Enjoy the blog!
I discovered OVW wrestling many years ago as a young wrestling fan and have heard about OVW via WWE and known that they were a developmental territory for WWE and Impact Wrestling for a number of years.

When I think OVW I think of their training system which is still running today) it produced the likes of Brock Lesnar, John Cena, CM Punk, Batista, Randy Orton and more.

OVW has a rich history and has been running for a long time thanks to Danny Davis.

To be honest I realised OVW was still active in 2018 but didn't  know more much more about them, until April 2018. I came across an interview on YouTube where former WWE star Al Snow announced that he had purchased OVW from Previous owner Danny Davis.

Al Snow talked about his vision for OVW, he talked about their TV and that they were coming up to their 1000th TV episode in 2018.

Not long after this, a couple of months later I noticed on my recommended feed on YouTube that Ohio Valley Wrestling TV is now uploading its latest episodes of OVW TV to YouTube it started with Ep 980 and I have been watching it since then.

A New Episode gets uploaded weekly and OVW Wrestling TV channel keeps 4 episodes active at one time, so if you missed any from the last 4 weeks you can catch up with them. OVW also post Social Media matches on this channel and these can be viewed their too.

Having not seen OVW Wrestling weekly TV before this, I was heading into this with an open mind and looking at this through fresh eyes and learning the characters, Wrestlers and format of the show.

OVW Wrestling TV is a weekly 1 hour episode, for me perfect amount of time with work/life being so busy 1 hour is perfect amount of time for a wrestling show, I don't have 2-3 hours to sit down and watch in one go, so OVW has become a weekly viewing habit. I enjoy the start and theme music start to the show and also one thing I noticed about how the show was put together was how the promos were filmed.

The Way OVW do their promos is really interesting they film a promo backstage and once the promo is finished the camera would pan around the corner and it would go into another promo with different people, I liked this its unique, different and added something different to the show.

What I have found that has been most enjoyable with OVW TV so far has the Wrestlers, Their characters and the shows have a storyline and purpose and they have direction. OVW has the ability to keep the viewer engaged on what they are doing, to me that is such an important element in 2018 as so many wrestling companies seemed to have lost that basic philosophy.

OVW Builds stories around each one of their titles OVW World Title, OVW ladies Title, OVW Southern Tag Team Titles, OVW TV Title and OVW Anarchy Title.

The Wrestlers

Aamon

I started watching OVW Wrestling where Michael Hayes was OVW Champion and he had "exercised" the Demon from Aamon. I didn't quite understand the Aamon character after tuning in for the first time at episode 980 but by the end of episode 980 I understood what the character was and the promo Aamon did in the ring and then he and the void putting Michael Hayes into a casket at the end of this show really set in intrigue in its such a bizarre, Crazy, absorbing performance.

The week after this both Aamon and Hayes did pre taped promos that were shown on the show. Hayes had a light bright candle and was taking and he could be seen in the background, Aamon when he cut a promo had a red ambiance and it was a great visual.

Aamon Red Candle Promo
The more I watched OVW the better Aamon got, he has this entourage around him called The Void and eventually as episodes went on and Aamon became OVW World Champion he revealed he had a "master" that master turned out to be The Monster Abyss. Aamon surrendered the Title to his master Abyss only for OVW Commissioner Dean Hill to take the OVW Title back and create a OVW World Title Tournament with the new champion being crowned at OVW 1000 TV taping.

Shotgun Tony Gunn

An extremely entertaining wrestler, who when I started watching OVW had a massive issue with OVW Anarchy Hardcore Champion Dapper Dan. Tony Gunn would carry a sign to the ring proclaiming the Hardcore is Garbage wrestling and that he was a "real wrestler" (even though Gunn would cheat weekly to win).

Eventually this culminated with Dapper Dan Agreeing with Tony Gunn and they had an Evening Gown Powerbomb Match at OVW Saturday Night Special! Tony Gunn is one to watch in OVW.

Billy O

Billy O, since I have been watching OVW TV since episode 980 has become a massive part of OVW and what they are doing. Billy O was able to defeat The Boy Wonder Sam Thompson to become OVW TV Champion  and then also beat Dapper Dan to become OVW Anarchy Champion, Billy is currently dual holder of both these titles in OVW and to me has to have this natural arrogance that makes you hate his character every time you see him!

Justin Smooth "The Trinidad Titan"

Justin Smooth has the presence, and the potential to be the biggest stars that OVW has to offer. Justin has been having issues with Ryan Howe and then after that  Aamon, Smooth has tried to face Aamon for the OVW World Title however Justin has be overcome by the odds, with The Void and Abyss getting involved, given the right circumstances and the playing field being even, Smooth could be a future OVW World Champion.

There is also lots of other fantastic wrestlers in OVW such as Jaylee, Ryan Howe, Zo, Sam Thompson, DL3 and more.

As well as OVW own developed talent and wrestlers OVW have also integrated a number of  pro wrestlers from around the world into their OVW TV Product

The Monster Abyss

Crimson

Jay Bradley

Jax Dane

Rebel

I really like this mix that OVW Wrestling has of their own talent plus the experience of wrestlers around the world coming back into OVW.

Over the past few weeks and months Crimson, Jax Dane, Jay Bradley, Abyss and Rebel have come back to OVW, I think personally that is added so much to the show as you have some recognisable faces, established names who can now mix it up with OVW talent and create some interesting matches and compelling stories too.

A great example of this is Jax Dane and Crimson, The War Kings who came back to OVW and immediately said they were taking back the OVW Southern Tag Titles, Dane and Crimson defeated The Bro Godz and are as of this writing Dane and Crimson are OVW Southern Tag Champions. This now brings up the next question who is going to step up to them and who is going to be able to defeat them, they established themselves quickly as an important part of the show, a killer tag team and a team that looks like an insurmountable challenge.

I have been really enjoying OVW TV, and think it will have even more great stories going forward and lots of great things happening as we head to 1000th OVW episode, OVW has announced their OVW World Title Tournament which is bound to have many surprises as of this writing Tommy Dreamer has also been announced for the tournament, OVW Dean Hill also stated that they want to see 1000 fans at the show at the OVW Arena in Ohio for OVW TV 1000.

If you want to purchase tickets to that show or any other tapings before that show they can be purchased at

Strike Wrestling Results Bournemouth May 20th 2018

Strike Wrestling Results Bournemouth May 20th 2018   Hello Wrestling fans! Welcome to the first ever Strike Wrestling Results blog!  I went to Bournemouth and took x2 trains and a bus to get there and it was well worth the effort. Before I get to the wrestling a bit about Bournemouth Bournemouth is a beautiful town it was a sunny hot day. I managed to go to the beach and see the pier and get a great view from Bournemouth on top of the cliffs, where there were also many of great restaurants and places to eat. Check out my on the road video on Strike Wrestling by clicking the video below! This was my first show at Strike Wrestling and Strike is an over 18’s show so I was expecting a different vibe, feel and presentation to family orientated wrestling that I have attended in the past. Strike wrestling is high paced, hard hitting, fast action but with a huge streak of entertainment, fun and having a great time.   From where I was

WWE TV in UK 2024 Will it Stay on TNT Sports, Move Back to Sky or Somewhere new?

In 2020 WWE signed a multi year deal with TNT Sports (BT Sport at the time) to air WWE programming WWE Raw, WWE Smackdown and WWE NXT.  Channel 5 also airs highlights of WWE RAW and WWE Smackdown but on a week delay - Channel 5 is a free to air channel here in the UK.  Last week I received an email as a WWE Network subscriber here in the UK to inform me that I could now watch WWE NXT every week on WWE Network from 3rd Jan 2024. So this email got me thinking - is the WWE/TNT Sports UK TV deal coming up soon? it looks possible. Looking at the original story of the deal being made in 2020 multiple sources claim that it is a "multi year deal" See below  ( https://www.digitalspy.com/tv/ustv/a28113145/wwe-smackdown-raw-watch-uk-tv-bt-sport/)     I could not find how many specific years that was., However I thought i'd give my opinion on where WWE Raw and WWE Smackdown could end up in 2024, The rights fee's obviously are alot less than there are in USA due to WWE Raw and Sma
