Thoughts on WWE Wrestlemaina 38 and What was the Best Match?

What an incredible two nights of actions WWE provided for Wrestlemaina 38. I had been out of the loop with WWE for a few months but thought i would watch Wrestlemaina Live and see the matches and what would catch my imagination and I was not disappointed.

WWE delivered what Wrestlemaina should be a showcase of the biggest stars and the best wrestling to me I think it was one of the best Wrestlemaina's in recent years. I felt Wrestlemaina was paced out so well and you didn't feel burned out when you got to the end of the show or feel like you had seen the same things a million times over.

WWE get a great job of recapping the feuds with video packages before the match plus the announcers did an amazing job of getting across the story of each match while doing great calling the action. I hadn't heard much of Jimmy Smith Commentary before this, but he is brilliant, his tone, delivery and the way he described the cation was excellent, WWE have a real commentary start with him.

In my opinion I thought night one edged out Night two but only just. Night one felt like a complete show to me, it was WWE at its best and doing what it does better than anyone else - telling stories and getting fans in the arena and at home to care about the actions and the stakes in place for the matches.

Night One Quick Thoughts

Nakamura/Boogs vs Usos - I felt so much for Rick Boogs get well soon, had to give an opinion on this match as it didn't go as planned, hope Boogs isn't out too long.

Drew Mcintyre vs Happy Corbin - Loved seeing Drew as I'm from UK, crowd solidly behind Drew and hate Corbin, great for a Drew win, crazy with the sword cutting the ropes after the match!

Miz/Logan Paul vs Mysterios (Rey and Dominik) - Logan Paul looked incredible, he looked like a wrestler, he wrestled like a wrestler and didn't look out of place at all, best celebrity performance of the weekend. Logan Doing Eddie Guerrero Moves got some of the biggest boo's from a wrestling crowd ever! Rey and Dominik did such a great job keeping the action running and making opponents look so good. Miz i so under appreciated & got a huge pop from me when he turned on Logan at the end!

Bianca Belair vs Becky Lynch - This was THE match of Wrestlemaina 38, my match of the weekend. So much credit to both these ladies for this match, a match if you havent seen you must watch. People look back fondly on Trish/Lita, people will look back on this in a few years time with the same feeling. Belair and Lynch were so physical, did so much and really made this feel like it mattered and both really took it up a level. This is tremendous women's wrestling at its finest. Belair hitting a 2nd rope 450 Splash was incredible highlight, but I loved it all!

Seth Rollins vs Cody Rhodes - Great to see Cody back in WWE, the crowd went wild and WWE delivered on fans expectations which was so important after a lacklustre Royal Rumble, Wrestlemaina needed that big surprise. Seth Rollins again played his part in this match so well, Cody returning after a 6 year absence reminded fans that he is a force in WWE.

Ronda Rousey vs Charlotte - I wasn't excited about this but was alot better than I thought It would be. They protected Ronda well in this match, having Charlotte tap out and the ref being out and then ref counting 3 While Charlotte foot was on the ropes, I like the big boot and quick pinfall finish to the match, Extremely physical for both and capped off Wrestlemaina well.....or so i thought.

Steve Austin vs Kevin Owens - It was KO show that turned into a match loved every second, it was fun, entertainment, nostalgia everything you love about WWE was int his match and it was great Austin ends his career where he started in Dallas.

Night Two Quick Thoughts

Triple H Retiring - Great to see Triple H back, left his boots in the ring, surely Hall of Fame next year for him!

RkBro/Alpha Academy/Street Profits - Brilliant opening match to Maina, every team got there moves in, and excellent finish with flying RKO, also Gable Steveson involved after the match suplexing Chab Gable!

Lashley/Omos - Not great, two big guys its hard to have a good match, This was what it was but wasn't amazing, both will have better maina matches int he future.

Knoxville vs Zayn - it was crazy, insane so many gimmicks at ringside and a fun comedy match, fun to see so may people involved and mouse traps! Probly the craziest match at Wrestlemaina! Wee Man, Chris Pontius and more!

4 way Womens Tag Match - Sasha and Naomi win, i found this match hard as none of the teams in it really feel like proper teams to me, match was ok very hard in a 4 way tag match but all did great.

Edge/Styles - I really liked this and thought they had a great match together, feels like this will continue, weird finish with Priest but nice mid air spear for Edge win, interested to see where this goes.

Sheamus/Holland v New Day - Match too quick, felt sorry for New Day, Butch Character is stupid and overshadowed people in the match itself, way too short, they will have much better matches in the near future.

Pat Mcafee vs Austin Theory - Thought Pat had a great showing very athletic and kept fans attention , Austin Theory was the right opponent really enjoyed him and what he brought to the match.

However Vince vs Mcafee straight after, not so great with Vince getting the win then Steve Auston comes out and stuns everybody and gives the worst stunner to Vince you'll never see!

Lesnar vs Reigns - thought they did the match they needed to do, power, brutality and hard hitting, huge for Reigns that he pinned Lesnar clean and won at Wrestlemaina and now has unified title, timing was perfect and they did great business here, Lesnar very unselfish and propelling Reigns forward.

This overall is what Wrestlemaina should be it felt great as a fan to watch and felt like to me after being away for a few months WWE are back on track again, they have found their Mojo I just hope it continues like this.

Welcome to the first ever Strike Wrestling Results blog!  I went to Bournemouth and took x2 trains and a bus to get there and it was well worth the effort. Before I get to the wrestling a bit about Bournemouth Bournemouth is a beautiful town it was a sunny hot day. I managed to go to the beach and see the pier and get a great view from Bournemouth on top of the cliffs, where there were also many of great restaurants and places to eat. Strike wrestling is high paced, hard hitting, fast action but with a huge streak of entertainment, fun and having a great time.   From where I was

WWE TV in UK 2024 Will it Stay on TNT Sports, Move Back to Sky or Somewhere new?

In 2020 WWE signed a multi year deal with TNT Sports (BT Sport at the time) to air WWE programming WWE Raw, WWE Smackdown and WWE NXT.  Channel 5 also airs highlights of WWE RAW and WWE Smackdown but on a week delay - Channel 5 is a free to air channel here in the UK.  Last week I received an email as a WWE Network subscriber here in the UK to inform me that I could now watch WWE NXT every week on WWE Network from 3rd Jan 2024. So this email got me thinking - is the WWE/TNT Sports UK TV deal coming up soon? it looks possible. Looking at the original story of the deal being made in 2020 multiple sources claim that it is a "multi year deal" See below  ( https://www.digitalspy.com/tv/ustv/a28113145/wwe-smackdown-raw-watch-uk-tv-bt-sport/)     I could not find how many specific years that was., However I thought i'd give my opinion on where WWE Raw and WWE Smackdown could end up in 2024, The rights fee's obviously are alot less than there are in USA due to WWE Raw and Sma
