Paul Wight (Big Show) joins All Elite Wrestling from WWE and why its so important

In massive news this week it was announced by All Elite Wrestling that they have signed Paul Wight (formally known as The Big Show).

This was shocking news, no one knew this was happening or that Paul Wight wanted to leave WWE where Wight had been wresting since 1999 and decided to leave after 22 Years with the company.

This is a huge (no pun intended) singing for AEW and just the sort of signing they needed.

Paul Wight is one of the most recognisable faces in Wrestling due to his long tenure ( he started in WCW in 1995), his size being the largest wrestler in the world and also his credibility as a top talent. Put Paul Wight on a poster, video game cover, advertisement and fans will know who he is, even fans that haven't watched in years will know who he is and that may draw in fans to watch AEW who may not of known about it or given it a chance before.

Paul Wight was thrust into many roles and he has experienced many different things throughout his carer, TV Shows, Netflix shows, Movies and more and not only out of the ring, but between the ropes as well and all of that experience I feel is another key factor as to why I think he is a great signing for AEW.

Paul Wight has all of this experience, that he can pass on to the next generation. That's great for AEW as having someone with that experience can help develop, enhance and make the next generation even better,  The insight from someone like Paul Wight could help so many guys like Will Hobbs, Luchasarus, Lance Archer, Brian Cage and help elevate the even more and help create stars.

Paul Wight is the missing piece that AEW needed he has all this experience that can be tapped into and be used to best effect throughout the whole company.

In AEW press release they also stated that Paul Wight would be on commentary for a new Youtube show AEW Dark Elevation, where Wight would be joined on Commentary by Tony Schiavone. This to be is a very interesting pairing and Wight can use his verbal skills to help put over the talent in the ring and explain the action.

I met Paul Wight a few years ago at a WWE meet and greet and I asked him about WCW and driving monster trucks and he went into a hilarious story about how cold it was when they filmed it and how much fun it was! Even in that brief interaction with him i could see what a fun guy he was and how good he was at telling a story. WWE never let us see that side of him but I hope we get to see and hear more of that on AEW Dark Elevation he came across as a warm, genuine caring guy with a huge smile and that really resonated with me.

I believe and I feel and it is my opinion that we are going to see even more of Paul Wight the man and that when Paul Wight can be himself on TV that he can be the best version of himself and not the version of Paul Wight Vince Mcmahon wanted him to be under The Big Show Moniker.

Paul Wight isn't done in the ring and AEW announced in the same press release that Wight would be wrestling too, its going to be fun to see who they match with up with and what he does between the ropes for AEW and what stories they can tell and what they can create which such a unique and gifted wrestler.

Don't forget too, Shaq is in AEW................?????

Women's Wrestling as I was growing up was very sparse. I was a big WWE fan and started watching in 1990 as a 4 year old. We used to see some females in front of the camera Miss Elizabeth, Sensational Sherri and more but rarely did we see them wrestle.  As time moved i...

My Memories Kevin Nash WCW years 1996-2001

My Memories Kevin Nash WCW Years 1996 -2001   After the success of my last blog Kevin Nash the WWE years 1993-1996 (Which can be viewed here)   http://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=1989536858659423683#editor/target=post;postID=6495934313225897804     Based on feedback I received I decided that I would do another blog on Kevin Nash this time looking back at the next part of his career from Mid 1996-2001 Kevin Nash Career in WCW.   This blog differs slightly to the last one as at this time in my life we could not watch WCW here in the UK as we did not have Sky TV Therefore some of this I saw at the time and other things I have had to research.       When Kevin Nash Left WWF in May of 1996 it was to move to longtime WWF Rival WCW. Kevin was no stranger to WCW having been in WCW before he came to WWE in 1993. Kevin Came in  to WCW a week after his good friend Scott Hall made his debut on WCW Nitro May 27th 19...
