The Magic of UK Pro wrestling isn't gone its just on hold......

CSF Wrestling, Frome March 3rd 2020 was my last show, the first national lockdown was announced a few weeks after this and there has not been regular independent wrestling since in the UK.

In the interest of safety its  all for the best we have to keep safe, stop this virus and above all be sensible. I have had a number of people close to me get the virus and its nothing to be messed with. We cannot have live events again unless it is safe to do so. It has to be safe for the fans, the wrestlers, the backstage crew and all involved.

Its funny when you think about it the things you miss. There is so much work that goes on before a show even takes place so much work done by the promotor that no one ever see's so much stress with putting the show together, advertising and organising i don't think people realise how difficult it is before you even get to a show.

I miss setting up the show its a hard process and lots of work to do, it takes hours its mentally and physically draining but there is nothing better when you look at the venue 30 mins before the show and its gone from a blank room to a room filled with a ring, seats, guardrails and is ready for the show. Then setting up my camera, what lens will i use, how much light is in the room and what settings do i need and how do i want to shoot,

Then the feeling of anticipation as the doors open their is something special about it that cant be replaced followed by a huge surge of adrenaline when the music hits and the show gets under way.

CSF Frome was a packed out show (as you can see from the picture above) there was a tremendous crowd and a great atmosphere something I wish i had taken in more at the time, i didn't realise at the time that this would be my last show for the foreseeable future.

Watching all the fans coming into the show, feeling the atmosphere build and the roar of the crowd when their favourite wins or the boo of the crowd when the bad guy wins instead its all things i miss.

The dynamic of the matches and way the very talented wrestlers tell the story of their match in the ring, the story they want to convey and how they want the crowd to perceive it and how it is received by the fans is key to a great show to me that's the essence of great wrestling is telling a great story.

Its been a hard year I have been working at home and not had much face to face contact with anyone so transitioning into that has been very hard. I miss the laughs, jokes, conversation and great times with so many people. I miss the personalities of good people the most - its something that cant be replaced.

Then the end of the show comes and the last fans have filed out and we start the process of taking everything down, packing it all away and driving back home and being awake for hours with the adrenaline still pumping and not being able to get to sleep for hours and feeling knackered the next day its all part of the fun!!

Currently after a year I'm frustrated not because shows haven't taken place or we haven't got our wrestling industry going again, I'm frustrated for many of the independent wrestling companies that have not had support from the government during this time, its an industry that needs to get support and should have support, wrestling has been directly affected by the current situation and I believe the government need to work harder to provide support to those companies for lost revenue and help protect the future of the great British wrestling scene.

Without British Independent wrestling we wouldn't have Pete Dunne, Mark Andrews, Tyler Bate and many more amazing pro wrestlers across WWE, AEW, NJPW, ROH and more. British Wrestling creates stars lets keep that tradition alive.

The Magic of pro wrestling isn't gone its just on hold this isn't a time to the sad about what we haven't had but a time to look at what we can gain in the future when it does come back

The Magic of Pro Wrestling will be back when its safe to do so :)

Women's Wrestling as I was growing up was very sparse. I was a big WWE fan and started watching in 1990 as a 4 year old. We used to see some females in front of the camera Miss Elizabeth, Sensational Sherri and more but rarely did we see them wrestle.  As time moved i...

My Memories Kevin Nash WCW years 1996-2001

My Memories Kevin Nash WCW Years 1996 -2001   After the success of my last blog Kevin Nash the WWE years 1993-1996 (Which can be viewed here)   http://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=1989536858659423683#editor/target=post;postID=6495934313225897804     Based on feedback I received I decided that I would do another blog on Kevin Nash this time looking back at the next part of his career from Mid 1996-2001 Kevin Nash Career in WCW.   This blog differs slightly to the last one as at this time in my life we could not watch WCW here in the UK as we did not have Sky TV Therefore some of this I saw at the time and other things I have had to research.       When Kevin Nash Left WWF in May of 1996 it was to move to longtime WWF Rival WCW. Kevin was no stranger to WCW having been in WCW before he came to WWE in 1993. Kevin Came in  to WCW a week after his good friend Scott Hall made his debut on WCW Nitro May 27th 19...
