LEP Wrestling Torquay Review

I have finally managed to get some time off and be able to come back down to Torquay and see LEP Wrestling for the first time.
I arrived at The Windmill Centre in Torquay ready to see a night of wrestling action.
First up was Job Obrey coming to the ring the LEP general Manager and announcer for the evening.
Our first match is for the LEP Academy Championship Blake Harrison and Draven come out to the ring but when they come out John Obrey advises that he has added a third person to the mix Vinni Clay music hits and he is officially the third man in the match!!

LEP Academy Championship
Blake Harrison vs Draven vs Vinni Clay
I enjoyed this 3 way match between all three wrestlers lots of action in and out of the ring and I felt this was a good match to start off the evening and crowd was really into and loved Vinni Clay and had a hate towards Blake Harrison and towards Draven too.
Clay looks like he is going to go onto big things in LEP and beyond but Blake Harrison was able to retain here.
After the match Harrison and Draven look like they are going to fight each other but they are broken up and each escorted individually to the back.
LEP Junior Championship
Shane Palmer vs Romany Rocco
Next Up the LEP Junior Championship was on the line as Shane Palmer LEP Champion takes on the challenger Romany Rocco, it wasn't meant to be this way though as before the match Romany gets n the mic and ask for this match to be for the Title and for Number One Contendership for LEP Academy title.
Lots of Wrestling from both in this match with Romany initially working on the arm. However Shane Supported by the fans in attendance was able to defeat Romany and retain his own title and become Number one Contender for Academy title.
Next was meant to be Mark Walsh as Scott however Mark music plays twice but Mark is not there, Mark is not able to come out to the ring, John states that he will not ask the referee to raise Scott Hand in Victory and will instead have an answer for Scott at the end of the night, John is told it better be the right decision or else......
LEP Heavyweight Championship Tourament
Charlie Winston vs John Harding
I was really looking forward to this match for many reasons I have never seen Charlie Winston before and it was my first time in over a year seeing John Harding.
Following a very severe recent injury it was great to see John back.
John had a complete new look, his hair is now short, he was wearing trucks and his wrestling style during the match changed as well, I liked all of it a great evolution for John Harding.
Charlie Winston as I said I hadn't seen before and he has so much presence, when he came out of the entrance way he meant business.
Charlie used his strengths to his advantage with his power and strength.
John tried to counter with a strategic approach and using his knowledge and vast experience, however it was Charlie Winston who managed to overpower and win the match.
Charlie and John had a great match here and something I really enjoyed, John looks back to his best and Charlie is someone to keep your eyes on I think he has a big future.
LEP Ladies Division
Adira vs Ruth Jackson
Ruth Jackson and Adira face off against each other and Jackson comes to the ring with a chair which she would try and use during the match.
A very hard hitting match from both ladies however Adira was able to spear Jackson her and pin Jackson. After wards it was announced that Adira and Jackson would face off at the next event to Crown 1st Ever LEP Woman's Champion.
Main Event
Gazznorks vs Luke Phoenix
Gazznorks and Luke Phoenix come to the ring and they shake hands with each other and show each other respect, Gazznorks get the better of Phoenix to begin with, then Phoenix snaps and then hits Gazznorks in the legs and is starting to get very aggressive and it looks like Phoenix earlier respect has disappeared.
Phoenix keeps trying to take out Gazznorks but Gazznorks is not letting Phoenix take him down and Gazznorks comes back at Phoenix and uses his power to dominate Phoenix.
Gazznorks is able to gain the pinfall Victory and after the match Phoenix refuses to shake Gazznorks hand and walks away with the fans boo-ing Phoenix.
After the Show
As John Obrey goes to wrap up the show Danny Walsh comes out, Danny gets into the ring and Danny states that the fans might think that John has been doing a good job however he hasn't.
John hasn't delivered on his promises Dead Mans Hand is still running roughshod over LEP and Reggie from The Firm is still in Hospital, Mark Walsh is in Hospital and it is all John fault.
This then brings out Dead mans Hand who get into the ring and surround John and Danny, Dead Mans Hand set up a table and then grab John and Chokeslam him through the table. Dead mans Hand then kneel down and give one of the masks they wear to Danny Walsh, Danny is left in the ring holding the mask as Dead Mans Hand Disappear.
Vinni Clay music then hits and he comes out gets into the ring and then disrobes and says Danny is the cause of his temmates being injured, Danny is the reason why he doesn't have a title shot, Danny says be careful what you say, Vinni replies by hitting Danny and Danny gets forced out from the ring and scurries to the back as Vinni is challenging him to come back.
Final Thoughts
Make sure you get yourself to a future LEP show, I enjoyed the show, lots of storylines going on, titles being utilised, home grown talent from the academy, sprinkled in with veteran talent and experience it was a fun show.
