AW Official Release from WWE

Last night I heard the news that AW - Abraham Washington has been released from the WWE.
below is WWE official Release statement regarding AW.

The statement of the website reads

"WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Superstar A.W. as of today, August 10, 2012. WWE wishes A.W. the best in all his future endeavours"

Presumably this stems from his comments from WWE RAW when he mentioned Kobe Bryant. Now not being American and Living in the UK when I saw that Initially It didn't resonate with me when I heard Michael Cole after the PrimeTime Players match Apologising for the comments of AW I didn't think much of it.....Until I went to Twitter and then it become apparent to me what AW had said and what he was referring too.

My first thought was if not authorised by WWE why on earth would you say anything about the Kobe Bryant Incident? Was AW trying to get more people to boo the Primetime Players? or was it something he said to entertain himself? No Matter the reason he shouldn't of said it the Kobe Bryan Hotel Incident is not something to make to joke about. Why Would you think of saying something like that is a good idea?

I saw a tweets from AW following the news of his release and it state the following

"Let this be a lesson to up and coming talent in the WWE don't try and be great like the Rock or Stone Cold. WWE isn't the same"

"To anyone that thinks I'm bad mouthing the WWE you're wrong. I love the WWE I just think they have forgotten the people that made them"

AW Twitter Feed

After seeing those comments he's right WWE isn't the same WWE has not been the same since 2001 Attitude Era is over and has been over for a considerable amount of time us as fans know it, the wrestlers know it. WWE is PG is aiming itself at children and the product that is put out now is aimed towards a much younger audience.

Stone Cold Steve Austin doesn't come out on TV in 2012 cussing and raising the middle finger anymore Steve Austin is given a script. That should tell you everything you need to know AW. The Society we are in now is a very different one to 1998 - much more media focus now than ever before and with the advent of so many forms of social media whatever you do on a national stage is magnified x1000.

There has been previous examples to this Daniel Bryan when Nexus invaded the ring on Raw for the very 1st time and Bryan choked Justin Roberts with his own tie following that Bryan was fired. Its sad to see AW go. The gimmick was just starting to get over (Until the Bryant Incident) and the primetime players were helped by what AW did however in the end AW should of known better sometimes people talk too much.

Women's Wrestling as I was growing up was very sparse. I was a big WWE fan and started watching in 1990 as a 4 year old. We used to see some females in front of the camera Miss Elizabeth, Sensational Sherri and more but rarely did we see them wrestle.  As time moved i...

My Memories Kevin Nash WCW years 1996-2001

My Memories Kevin Nash WCW Years 1996 -2001   After the success of my last blog Kevin Nash the WWE years 1993-1996 (Which can be viewed here)   http://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=1989536858659423683#editor/target=post;postID=6495934313225897804     Based on feedback I received I decided that I would do another blog on Kevin Nash this time looking back at the next part of his career from Mid 1996-2001 Kevin Nash Career in WCW.   This blog differs slightly to the last one as at this time in my life we could not watch WCW here in the UK as we did not have Sky TV Therefore some of this I saw at the time and other things I have had to research.       When Kevin Nash Left WWF in May of 1996 it was to move to longtime WWF Rival WCW. Kevin was no stranger to WCW having been in WCW before he came to WWE in 1993. Kevin Came in  to WCW a week after his good friend Scott Hall made his debut on WCW Nitro May 27th 19...
