Ownership

AEW is owned and founded by Shalid Khan and is run by his son Tony Khan. The Khan family own American football team Jacksonville Jaguars and Tony Khan holds the position of Senior Vice President, Football Technology & Analytics. The Khan Family also own Fulham Football club in English Premier League.

Tony Khan is a massive Wrestling fan, who has extensive knowledge of wrestling and used to trade tapes in the 1990's.

Tony Khan has said interviews that he is a fan of Chris Jericho and that he watched ECW when he was younger.

I have watched interviews with Tony Khan and in my opinion I feel he is very knowledgeable and engaging and he is keeping expectations in perspective and seems like he really wants to make an investment in wrestling and improve wrestling landscape and change it for the better.

Tony Khan has also regularly gives  to a number of fund raisers and charities for a number of different causes, he gives back to the community both from himself and via the clubs and organisations that he owns.

What's Next for All Elite Wrestling?

The way they want to present wrestling - a Ranking system?

There was a lot of talk at the press conference in Jackonsville that All Elite want to use some kind of ranking system for their wrestlers on the show.

Nick Jackson and Cody mentioned recently that it was a concept they were still working on but said that they felt it would be integral to the shows and be backed up with statistics that can be presented on screen or by the commentators as they are talking about matches.

The ranking system could be achieved in many ways, It could be split into different groups Heavyweight, Tag Team, Cruiserweight Ladies and in its simplest form if you get a win you get 1 point and a loss equals 0 points and the person at the top of their group 2 weeks before the event gets the number one contendership.

Another system that could be used is one similar that is used in English Football (Soccer) that you keep the same ranking system as above but with the following changes you have

3 Points for a win
1 Point for a draw
0 points for a loss

Two Weeks before the PPV the league stops and the 2 people that finished top n that division then face each other in a umber one contender match the winner of that then goes on to face the champion at the PPV. You could also changed this so if 3 people were on the same points you could have a triple threat number one contendership or even a 4 way contendership match if 4 people ended on the same points

As an example in the Women's division you have the women's league and it finished like this

Britt Baker - 12 Points
Asa Kong - 12 Points
Brandi Rhodes - 10 Points
Yuka Sakazaki  - 8 points
Nyla Rose - 6 Points
Kylie Ray - 4 points

As they are on 12 points each your number one contender match is

Britt Baker vs Asa Kong

The Winner then faces Penelope Ford (Hypothetical AEW Women's Champ)

AEW TV Deal

This is purely my opinion but I think and feel that the next for All Elite Wrestling as an announcement of a television deal in USA.

Who this will be with and when this might be airing hasn't been revealed yet but I think its the next logical step for the company so they can support their Pay Per View Events with content and help build more intrigue for the matches on those events and also support the ranking system we discussed above.

Being a resident of the UK I am also hoping for a UK TV deal or a way to watch via online if a UK deal cannot be reached at this time, as I want to witness the fantastic action that AEW is sure to provide.

WWE Royal Rumble 2013 Ziggler is Lucky Number 1 (or 2) Dolph Ziggler This Sunday 27th January 2013 WWE Royal Rumble will air. Generally One of the best WWE PPV's of the year. This year 30 Man Royal Rumble match has alot of intrigue built into it most people are of the opinion that John Cena will be winning this years event and then go on to face The Rock at Wrestlemania. However after seeing this past Monday's WWE raw WWE might have something else in mind.,.,, Royal Rumble 2013 A Beat the clock challenge took place on WWE Raw and the winner of this we were originally told could pick their number for the Royal Rumble Match. Dolph Ziggler Ends up winning the Beat The Clock challenge then when he is bragging about this Vicki Guerreo informs Ziggler that it is not a free choice of Royal Rumble Entry number instead it is a number chosen within a certain range Number one to Number two. Here's what WWE could do This I feel is the ideal opportunity fo

Strike Wrestling Results Bournemouth May 20th 2018   Hello Wrestling fans! Welcome to the first ever Strike Wrestling Results blog!  I went to Bournemouth and took x2 trains and a bus to get there and it was well worth the effort. Before I get to the wrestling a bit about Bournemouth Bournemouth is a beautiful town it was a sunny hot day. I managed to go to the beach and see the pier and get a great view from Bournemouth on top of the cliffs, where there were also many of great restaurants and places to eat. Check out my on the road video on Strike Wrestling by clicking the video below! This was my first show at Strike Wrestling and Strike is an over 18’s show so I was expecting a different vibe, feel and presentation to family orientated wrestling that I have attended in the past. Strike wrestling is high paced, hard hitting, fast action but with a huge streak of entertainment, fun and having a great time.   From where I was

WWE TV in UK 2024 Will it Stay on TNT Sports, Move Back to Sky or Somewhere new?

In 2020 WWE signed a multi year deal with TNT Sports (BT Sport at the time) to air WWE programming WWE Raw, WWE Smackdown and WWE NXT.  Channel 5 also airs highlights of WWE RAW and WWE Smackdown but on a week delay - Channel 5 is a free to air channel here in the UK.  Last week I received an email as a WWE Network subscriber here in the UK to inform me that I could now watch WWE NXT every week on WWE Network from 3rd Jan 2024. So this email got me thinking - is the WWE/TNT Sports UK TV deal coming up soon? it looks possible. Looking at the original story of the deal being made in 2020 multiple sources claim that it is a "multi year deal" See below  ( https://www.digitalspy.com/tv/ustv/a28113145/wwe-smackdown-raw-watch-uk-tv-bt-sport/)     I could not find how many specific years that was., However I thought i'd give my opinion on where WWE Raw and WWE Smackdown could end up in 2024, The rights fee's obviously are alot less than there are in USA due to WWE Raw and Sma
