WWE UK Tournament - What if WWE Used South West, UK Based Wrestlers

WWE UK Tournament

What if WWE Used South West, UK Based Wrestlers?

I had an idea recently after seeing the announcement of a new WWE UK Tournament by WWE and from listening to the always excellent Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard. Bruce always says What If and I thought what if  WWE did a tournament with Wrestlers from South West of England?

We have so much talent in this area and so many wrestlers that could potentially debut for WWE in the future.

So the idea is to have a 16 Man Tournament and to give an example to see how that tournament could go to show how much great talent is based here and what an excellent thriving scene is here in South West.

First some background.

South West Wrestling Companies

I don't think South West UK Wrestling gets enough love as it should do. We have amazing companies in this area here are some of the great wrestling companies in the south west.  This isn't a list of all the companies across the South West just a select few that I have been too. There are exceptions that aren't in this list (Pro Wrestling Chaos, CPW to name just two)

Picking 16 South West Based Wrestlers

We have so many excellent things happening in our wrestling scene here and so many great wrestlers working in this area that so many people may not know about, as for some reason South West Wrestling does not get as much coverage in mainstream wrestling media as it should.

To make it interesting I thought I would only use wrestlers I have seen in the south west where I'm from over the last 5 years. This would be fun to see all the great talent we have here and whether WWE could create a UK tournament based solely on Wrestlers based here.

So here we go, bit first a few rules,

  • 16 Wrestlers need to be selected
  • I wont be using anybody from WWE
  • I will be picking wrestlers who I have seen in the South West Area (Cardiff, Bristol, Swindon, Wiltshire, Somerset and Devon)
  • I am allowed One Wild card Pick if I like which is not from the area but has to be a British talent currently on the independent scene

After a lot of thought I have decided that I would pick the following wrestlers (I have added the company I have seen them wrestle for next to their name)

1, Big Grizzly - CSF Wrestling

2, Dick Riley - CSF Wrestling

3, Eddie Ryan - CSF Wrestling

4, Chris Andrews - Big League Wrestling

5, Josh Bodom - Strike Wrestling

6, Lomax - 4FW

7, Tiger Ali - 4FW

8, Kay Jutler - CSF Wrestling

9,JD Knight - 4FW

10, * (Wildcard) Thomas Latimer - 4FW

11, Eddie Dennis - CSF Wrestling

12, Charlie Sterling - CSF Wrestling

13, Adam Da Silva - Big League Wrestling

14, Jack Starz - CSF Wrestling

15, Kelly Sixx - CPW

16,Josh Knott - Big League Wrestling

The WWE South West UK Tournament

So for the next part of this I used a number generator and whatever numbers came out next to each other (I,e 15,5 that would be Kelly Sixx vs Josh Bodom).
This is obviously all fictitious and all done by the luck of the draw but think it gives a great idea of how something like this would go and I have done this for every stage 16/8/4/2/Winner.
You can see a screen print of the number generator below

Here is the first Tournament bracket for
WWE UK Tournament South West Wrestling

I did a number generator again and these were the results

Once again I did the number generator to get the Semi Final Results

The final bracket and the winner is..........

In this fiction based Tournament Josh Bodom is the winner!

I think this shows and illustrates just how much talent is here in the South West how lucky we are to have so many talented wrestlers in our area and how these wrestlers here should be exposed to a wider audience.

I hope that the talent that is here does get an opportunity to show what they can do on a larger platform and to show the world what we here in the south wrestling already know, our guys are awesome and could make a huge impact on a bigger stage, I hope to see some of these wrestlers in WWE in the future and watching them excel even further in their careers.

Thanks for Reading

Strike Wrestling Results Bournemouth May 20th 2018   Hello Wrestling fans! Welcome to the first ever Strike Wrestling Results blog!  I went to Bournemouth and took x2 trains and a bus to get there and it was well worth the effort. Before I get to the wrestling a bit about Bournemouth Bournemouth is a beautiful town it was a sunny hot day. I managed to go to the beach and see the pier and get a great view from Bournemouth on top of the cliffs, where there were also many of great restaurants and places to eat. Check out my on the road video on Strike Wrestling by clicking the video below! This was my first show at Strike Wrestling and Strike is an over 18’s show so I was expecting a different vibe, feel and presentation to family orientated wrestling that I have attended in the past. Strike wrestling is high paced, hard hitting, fast action but with a huge streak of entertainment, fun and having a great time.   From where I was

WWE TV in UK 2024 Will it Stay on TNT Sports, Move Back to Sky or Somewhere new?

In 2020 WWE signed a multi year deal with TNT Sports (BT Sport at the time) to air WWE programming WWE Raw, WWE Smackdown and WWE NXT.  Channel 5 also airs highlights of WWE RAW and WWE Smackdown but on a week delay - Channel 5 is a free to air channel here in the UK.  Last week I received an email as a WWE Network subscriber here in the UK to inform me that I could now watch WWE NXT every week on WWE Network from 3rd Jan 2024. So this email got me thinking - is the WWE/TNT Sports UK TV deal coming up soon? it looks possible. Looking at the original story of the deal being made in 2020 multiple sources claim that it is a "multi year deal" See below  ( https://www.digitalspy.com/tv/ustv/a28113145/wwe-smackdown-raw-watch-uk-tv-bt-sport/)     I could not find how many specific years that was., However I thought i'd give my opinion on where WWE Raw and WWE Smackdown could end up in 2024, The rights fee's obviously are alot less than there are in USA due to WWE Raw and Sma
